Where to go hiking with your child in Singapore?

What’s a healthy, fun and low cost activity that you can do together with your child? Hiking of course! As Singapore starts to complete more and more hiking trails across Singapore. There is definitely a hiking trail near you.

Let us explore which ones are now available and suitable for you and your child:

  1. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
    Located at the Northwest part of Singapore, around Lim Chu Kang and Kranji, this Nparks location is open from 7am to 7pm. It is well known for migratory birds.

    Nice place to walk and enjoy the nature, with the view of Malaysia just across the sea. Sometimes if you are lucky, you make even spot crocodiles in the shallower waters.

  2. MacRitchie Reservoir
    MacRitchie Reservoir has been around for a long time. Its centralised location also makes it really popular with all Singaporeans.

    It has a beautiful scenic perimeter trail around the artificial lake. If you are up for it, you can jog along these trails with your child.

  3. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
    Located just beside Arise Preschool, it’s the highest hiking trail in Singapore. You will see lots of people over the weekends in climbing and hiking gears heading up the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

    Be careful of your personal belongings and food items as some of the monkeys there can be quite aggressive!

  4. Southern Ridges
    Open 24 hours, this is another beautiful trail in the Southern part of Singapore. With a mixture of wildlife and city views. The views are fantastic as it up above with the trees’ canopy heights.

    Be ready to spot many species of birds, reptiles and squirrels at this highly favourite trail!
