Super foods for your child to improve his immune system

There are super foods out there that can help your child’s immune system. But what super food is best for your children? That depends on their age, but it also depends on how healthy they already are. For babies, breastmilk is super because it boosts the immune system and helps them fight off infections. Older children need to eat a variety of different super foods to get all the nutrients they need so they can stay healthy!

Here are a list of super food that you can introduce to your childen to improve their immune system:

All kinds of berries:

Berries like blueberries, strawberries, and mulberries can boost the immune system as they are rich in antioxidants. Elderberries offer a slightly higher level of immunity support because it is rich in phytochemicals such as flu-killing compounds which help against the influenza virus.

Oranges and citrus fruits:

Citrus fruits like oranges, limes, lemons, pomelos are loaded with vitamin C. This antioxidant makes vitamins more effective and offers benefits to the whole immune system.

Try to pick those that are sweeter so that your children are more likely to eat them vs those that are sourish.

Mushrooms:

Another good choice is mushrooms. They boost immune systems because they have fibres know as beta-glucans. They penetrate the gut barrier and sit on specific receptors of the immune cells in the inner surface of the intestine. This activates the growth and communication of immune cells boosting immunity.

Eggs:

Eggs are a great choice because they have many nutrients that are good for your children’s immune system. Secondly, they provide vitamin D, another crucial nutrient for healthy immunity. Additionally, they contain vitamins A and E, choline, zinc, iron, and many other nutrients. Eggs are also inexpensive, versatile with a variety of cooking methods to suit any taste buds and easy to come by!

Do take note if your child is allegic to eggs though, some of them might have this during the earlier stage of their lives, give him or her a small taste of it and look out for any reactions.

Nuts:

Nuts and seeds contain healthy fats, protein, vitamins, and other nutrients. Certain types of nuts like almonds have vitamin E. It’s a fat-soluble antioxidant that also regulates immune functions.

Do take note for allegic reactions for nuts too!
